Transforming a Maleny Landscape into a Large-Scale Statement Print on Aluminium

Bringing a Scenic Photograph to Life with Precision Printing

At Prolab, we recently completed a striking large-format print for Maple Street Tea in Maleny — transforming a beautiful landscape photograph into a bold, high-impact wall feature.

Working closely with both the client and photographer, we produced a 1350 x 1800mm fine art print mounted to aluminium composite (ACM), finished with a protective laminate and ready for immediate installation.

This project highlights how the right combination of high-resolution imagery, professional printing, and durable materials can elevate a space with confidence.

Starting with the Right File: Why Resolution Matters

Initially, the supplied image file was too low resolution for large-scale output. Rather than compromise on quality, we worked with the client and photographer to source the original high-resolution TIFF file.

This step was critical.

For large-format printing, especially at sizes exceeding 1.5 metres, image resolution directly impacts sharpness, clarity, and overall visual impact. With the correct file in hand, we ensured the final print would hold detail across the entire surface — even when viewed up close.

Printing on Aluminium Composite Panel (ACM)

We produced the final artwork using our direct-to-substrate printing process onto aluminium composite panel (ACM).

Protective Sandtex Laminate for Longevity

To ensure durability, we applied a Sandtex protective laminate over the print surface.

This adds:

  • Scratch resistance
  • UV protection
  • Reduced glare with a subtle matte finish

This makes the artwork ideal for environments like retail spaces, cafés, and high-traffic interiors — such as Maple Street Tea.

Custom Baton Mounting System for Easy Installation

On the reverse, we fitted a split baton hanging system, allowing the artwork to sit slightly off the wall with a clean floating effect.
