Large Format Print Finishing

A topic that consistently comes up in conversation with most of our clients is how large can I reproduce my original image.
This is quite an interesting question, as the answer is not always as straight forward as the client would expect.
There are many underlying factors that contribute to rendering a professional result, some may complement or hinder the process.
Some of the common underlying factors included the type of capture device, phone, digital camera or film camera, the size of the sensor in Mega Pixel or original format of the film, ISO of the shot, and most importantly the optics used to capture the image in the first place.
What file format we are working from, either a rasterized or vector-based image contributes greatly to the rendering factor.
The abstract interpretation, whether the captured original nature of the artwork can be viewed in a subjective manner, as with some interpolation techniques can complement this process.
The type of output media commissioned fine art papers, or a large format display or segmented mural and importantly what the intended viewing distance is for the final display.
