Large-Format Canvas Printing for FWR Pty Ltd
Prolab recently completed a striking set of five large-format canvas prints for FWR Pty Ltd, transforming the company’s transport and rural photography into impressive wall displays for its Larapinta premises.
The project included one panoramic canvas measuring 2000 × 1125 mm and four additional canvases measuring 1600 × 900 mm. We printed and stretched each artwork on a substantial 40 mm profile with a mirror-wrapped edge finish.
Preparing the Images for Large Canvas Printing
FWR approached Prolab after another supplier raised concerns about producing the photographs at the requested sizes. The supplied images needed careful assessment before they could become large wall canvases.
Our team reviewed the resolution, image quality and proportions of each file. We then prepared the artwork specifically for large-format output, ensuring that important details remained clear and that each photograph suited its intended dimensions.
This preparation proved particularly important for the main panoramic image, which the client wanted enlarged to two metres wide. After setting up and assessing the file, we confirmed that we could produce it successfully at the requested size.
A Two-Metre Panoramic Canvas with Impact
The feature canvas captures a heavy transport vehicle and vivid red trailer moving through an expansive agricultural landscape. Strong leading lines run through the planted fields, while the wide composition gives the truck and surrounding countryside plenty of visual space.
At 2000 mm wide, the finished canvas creates a commanding focal point. The panoramic proportions complement the subject matter and allow viewers to appreciate the machinery, landscape and depth of the scene.
Large canvas printing works especially well for photographs like this because the format creates impact without introducing the reflections associated with framed glazing.
Four Coordinated Commercial Canvas Prints
Alongside the main feature artwork, we produced four coordinating canvases for the downstairs areas of the building.
Each canvas measured 1600 × 900 mm, creating a consistent presentation throughout the premises. Using matching proportions, construction and edge finishes helped the collection feel unified while allowing each photograph to retain its own identity.

Professionally Stretched on 40 mm Canvas Frames
We stretched all five prints over sturdy 40 mm-profile stretcher frames. The deeper profile gives large canvases greater visual presence and provides the support required for oversized pieces.
We also used a mirror wrap around the edges. This process extends a reflected portion of the image around the sides, preserving the complete front composition while creating a continuous, finished appearance.
To make installation safer and more straightforward, we fitted D-rings to the back of each canvas rather than relying on picture string. D-rings provide a more secure hanging method for canvases of this scale.
