Bringing Brian G Jefferies’ Different Worlds Series to Life on SwissQ Metal

Capturing the Spirit of “Different Worlds”
Brian G Jefferies’ Different Worlds series (viewable online at briangjefferies.com) documents the unique charm of everyday storefronts and local businesses. Each image captures a piece of suburban culture, from familiar “World” shopfronts to unexpected urban landscapes.
The series resonates with viewers because it transforms ordinary streetscapes into bold statements about community, nostalgia, and place. Our role at Prolab was to produce these photographs in a way that heightened their impact when displayed in a hospitality setting.
Precision Printing on SwissQ Metal
To achieve the vibrant colour and crisp detail these works demanded, we printed the series on SwissQ Metal using our state-of-the-art UV flatbed process. This medium provided an exceptional base, giving each image a rich tonal depth and durability ideal for long-term display.
We then applied a matte varnish finish, which reduced glare while maintaining colour vibrancy. This subtle surface treatment ensured the artworks retained their bold presence under varying light conditions, while also offering an elegant and professional presentation.
Installed with Impact
The finished prints, now framed in a playful mix of coloured mounts, are installed against textured brick and timber walls (as shown in the images above). The setting complements the character of the photographs, highlighting their everyday subject matter while making them pop in a warm and inviting environment.
