Bringing “NATURE” to Life: Prolab’s Collaboration with François Detaille at Jan Manton Gallery

A Striking Fine Art Photography Exhibition in Brisbane
Prolab was proud to collaborate with acclaimed aerial photographer François Detaille on his latest exhibition, NATURE, held at Jan Manton Gallery in Teneriffe, Brisbane. This stunning body of work showcases Australia’s raw and abstract landscapes through a refined, contemporary lens — and we were honoured to bring these works to life through premium fine art printing and framing.
Elevating Detail Through Large-Scale Fine Art Printing
For this exhibition, François selected a combination of large-format gallery wrap canvases and SwissQprint 3D metal prints, allowing each artwork to express its unique depth, texture, and tonal range.
We produced:
- 1500 × 1000 mm Gallery Wrap Canvas Prints (40mm stretcher)
- 1300 × 870 mm SwissQprint 3D Metal Prints with aluminium rebate backing
- Additional 1300 × 870 mm and 600 × 400 mm canvas works
Each piece was carefully colour-managed and printed using Galerie Fine Art Canvas Galicia, a premium matte canvas known for its exceptional detail reproduction and rich tonal depth—perfect for François’ intricate aerial compositions.
Consistent Framing for a Cohesive Exhibition Finish
To maintain a unified gallery presentation, we worked closely with François to ensure:
- American Oak float frames matched across all key pieces
- Consistent frame spacing and proportions for visual balance
- Seamless integration of existing frames where possible
Where challenges arose—such as reusing an existing float frame—we provided practical solutions, including offering a new matching float frame at no additional cost to maintain consistency across the exhibition.

Professional Presentation with Custom ID Plates
To elevate the professionalism of the exhibition, we introduced a refined solution for artwork identification:
- Custom metal ID plates produced using our SwissQprint UV flatbed printer
- Mounted discreetly on the back of each canvas
- Designed to include artist signature, title, year, and edition details
This approach provides a clean, archival alternative to handwritten markings, enhancing the collector experience.
Immersive Gallery Experience with Phototex Wall Graphics
To further enhance the exhibition space, François incorporated a Phototex removable wall mural at the gallery entrance. This installation helped set the scene—immersing visitors in the landscapes behind the artworks before they even stepped into the main gallery.
Phototex is an ideal solution for exhibitions, offering:
- Easy installation and removal
- No wall damage
- A high-quality matte finish with excellent colour reproduction
