Aria Sanctuary Gallery Refreshed with Large-Format Canvas Printing and Custom Framing

When Aria Property Group prepared to update its Sanctuary Display Gallery in South Brisbane, the project required more than simply printing a new set of images. Each replacement artwork needed to fit an existing canvas stretcher and timber floater frame while maintaining a consistent, polished presentation across the entire gallery.

Prolab and Jubilee Framers managed the project from initial inspection and file preparation through to large-format canvas printing, stretching and final frame refitting.

Reusing the Existing Floater Frames

Aria supplied the existing framed displays to our Kelvin Grove workshop so we could inspect, measure and document each piece.

The original timber floater frame profile was no longer available. This made accurate sizing particularly important. Rather than replace every frame, we developed a production plan that allowed Aria to reuse the existing stretchers and floater frames wherever their condition permitted.

Our team checked the original production files and confirmed the exact finished dimensions of the earlier artworks. We then supplied those measurements to Aria’s design team so they could prepare the updated artwork at matching sizes.

By keeping the new canvases consistent with the original dimensions, we preserved the visual continuity of the gallery while making practical use of the existing framing components.

Managing a 15-Piece Commercial Display Project

The final project included 15 replacement canvas displays, with two existing gallery pieces remaining unchanged.

The collection featured a range of vertical and panoramic formats showcasing Aria’s developments, interiors and lifestyle amenities. The completed pieces included imagery of landscaped gardens, city views, rooftop entertaining areas, a basketball court, resort-style pools, premium residences and architectural visualisations.

The canvas sizes ranged from smaller 1150 × 1400 mm presentation panels through to an expansive 2690 × 1400 mm panoramic display. Other large pieces measured up to 2200 mm wide, creating a strong visual presence within the showroom environment.

Careful project management helped us track every artwork by its gallery number, finished size, image description and corresponding frame. This system reduced the risk of production errors and ensured that every canvas returned to the correct stretcher and floater frame.

Premium Large-Format Canvas Printing

The canvas originally used for the previous display was no longer available in the wide roll size required for this project.

We selected Ilford Galerie Décor Canvas Bright White 380gsm as the replacement material. This premium heavyweight canvas provides a bright, consistent base for detailed architectural imagery and suits large-format commercial display applications.

We printed the collection using our professional aqueous wide-format printing process. The canvas reproduced the warm interior tones, detailed building renders, deep evening skies and landscaped greens throughout Aria’s supplied artwork.

The durable 380gsm construction also gave our framing team a reliable material to tension across the existing stretchers.

Test Printing and Colour Approval

Colour consistency plays an essential role in any branded property display, particularly when a gallery combines architectural renders, photography, typography and graphic design.

Before beginning the complete production run, we prepared a test print for Aria to review. The client compared the available colour versions and approved the Adobe RGB (1998) colour workflow for the finished collection.

Once Aria approved the test, we applied the same controlled workflow across the entire project. We also held several individual gallery pieces while Aria’s design team supplied final revised artwork, ensuring that only the most current approved files entered production.

This proofing stage allowed both teams to confirm the colour reproduction before committing to the full set of large-format prints.

Stretching and Refitting Every Canvas

After printing, our framing team removed the superseded canvases and prepared the existing structures for reuse.

We then:

• stretched each new canvas over its corresponding existing stretcher;
• checked the image alignment and edge positioning;
• applied even tension across the canvas;
• inspected the corners and finished edges; and
• refitted each stretched canvas into its matching timber floater frame.

Floater frames create a narrow visual gap between the canvas and the surrounding frame. This detail gives large canvas artwork a clean, contemporary finish, but it also makes accurate stretching and positioning essential. Even a minor alignment issue can become visible once the artwork sits inside the frame.

Our team completed the two largest pieces first before progressing through the remaining gallery collection. All printing, re-stretching and frame refitting remained on schedule for Aria’s planned collection.

A Refreshed Gallery with a Consistent Finish

The finished gallery displays combine large-scale architectural imagery with clean, understated framing. Reusing the original timber floater frames helped preserve the established showroom style while the newly printed canvases refreshed the content throughout the space.

Aria’s team described the completed pieces as “looking amazing” while the project was still progressing through our workshop.

This project demonstrates how detailed file preparation, colour-managed canvas printing and experienced custom framing can extend the life of an existing commercial display system. Rather than starting again with entirely new frames, we adapted the updated artwork to suit the available structures and delivered a cohesive result across 15 individually sized pieces.
