Acrylic Triptych

Frank Tomlinson’s stunning red photographs from this year’s Venice Biennale required all the colour saturation they could get. This meant printing pure photographic on Kodak Endura Metallic archival paper, a material with the benefit of an exceptionally large colour gamut and deep blacks. The colour stands out even more once face mounted behind optically clear 6mm acrylic adding an extra layer of shine to a create a beautifully vibrant surface. The triptych of images measure at 1.8 x 1.2 metres and are Frank’s dynamic interpretation of the ‘The Key in the Hand’ installation by Chiharu Shiota at the Japan Pavillion. A work that prompts consideration of how ‘by coming into contact with people’s warmth on a daily basis, the keys accumulate countless, multilayered memories that dwell within us.’
